A new day was just starting in the town of magnolia. People were just beginning to rouse. A quiet patter rings out across the deserted streets. Out of the dawn shadows slips a girl. There is nothing remarkable about this girl on first sight. She is tall, slender and has a thin worn face. Probably about twelve. Her eyes dart around, looking at every nook and cranny. This is what is you first notice. Her eyes. They are round, huge and full of sadness. They see every everything. You can tell she has been through more than her fair share of hardship but only those imploring eyes show it. She creeps from one shadow to another, barely visible in the rising sun. If you looked away, you would miss her.
