Unwanted Wolf-Humans

Kaya sniffs the air. No wolf-humans. This is my second school, she thought, and I can't find my kind. A strong wind blows, almost knocking over Kaya's hood. Before it falls, she snatches it and puts it up again. No one non-wolf-human can see my identity, she says in her mind. Wait. Was that? Kaya sees a male "human" holding his hood because he was facing the wind. As the wind carried his scent, Kaya smiles. My kind. She races over to him. "I'm Kaya. You are my kind." He nods. "I'm Walt." Kaya looks him up and down. Not a scratch. Kaya has a scar on her forehead and on her eyebrow from the "haters". "Walt, come with me. It isn't safe here." Walt nods grimly and follows me back to my shelter/camp.
