It seems like a never ending dream.
Going on and on, with nothing changing.
Life is boring.
But then you look back and realize that, suddenly, it’s been two years.
Continuing, always going, never stopping.
Winter passes, a cold haze, chilly mornings and running to school.
Spring comes, you wish it were summer, and why won’t it stop raining?
Summer, it’s not as nice as you remember, to hot and buggy, the pool water is like bath water.
Autumn, oh why didn’t I appreciate summer more, and how is it already fall?
Winter rolls around again, life continues on.
Life continues on.
And then, it’s been a decade.
From those long, never ending times.
And you look back and realize with nostalgia,
Life wasn’t so uneventful after all.
Winter, snow and cocoa, cozy days with friends,
Spring, a glorious season, suddenly warm, spring peepers and owls sing late into the night.
Summer, long lazy days, rambling around, crickets and cicadas, chirping out their sound.
Autumn, bonfires, apple cider, cool, crisp air.
You look back on these joyful times, memories sweep around you.
You stand there where you used to stand, but no longer are you a child.
You look up at the sky,
And run your fingers over the rough bark of that old tree.
A ever changing, never ending story.
