If I Didn't

If I didn't have a life
If there was no strife
Then I'd be dead
In my body and my head
I'm writing this for two reasons:
To entertain myself through the seasons
And tell you that if I didn't have a life
If there was no strife
Then I'd be dead
In my body and my head
So listen to this:
The only lives I don't have are nine, or the ones that involve a kiss
If I didn't have a life someone would miss
Me!
Dead is what I'd also be!
I write this to entertain
Not to detain
But how could this poem detain anyone?
Anyone or just someone
Which are the same people
Who might live on a steeple
That will beep-le
When it gets climbed-le
So if I didn't have a life
Or although I don't have one now, a knife
Then I'd be dead
And now that that's said
Do you know who
I'm talking to?
Maybe not you!
But still a person
Is this an immersion
In this poem that doesn't always make sense
Just to let you know, I didn't climb over a fence
Are these bad rhymes
Or silly sullen mimes?
I think not!
