Very overpopulated. A whole family is living in our backyard, fawn with them.

Of course people here hunt them—it’s a tradition. But their population is still concerningly huge.

We have a family of them with kits living under our shed. Again, they have population control on them.

Beautiful, extremely territorial birds.

Their coo sounds very sad, like they’re mourning.

Most everyone has seen them. They are red-breasted.

One lives in the window-well of the basement.

The difference between a chipmunk and a squirrel is that squirrels are larger and don’t have a stripe down their back.

These beautiful birds are known for the speed of their wings and can fly in any direction.

Notorious for invading your garbage. Also infamous for having rabies. Don’t ever trust a raccoon that’s out in broad daylight.

Dragonflies

One day, there were a couple hundred of them in our (half acre) yard at a time. Scientists are still trying to find out why.

Seventeen year cicadas

They only come out every seventeen years, and this year (2019) they emerged in my area/district.

I’ve seen lots. They are in NO WAY dangerous to humans living in America any more than a squirrel might be.

And it would b hard 2 name EVERY animal! There's tons! Especially with things like birds and insects!

The country? Um, what does the country have 2 do with this, besides the animals who live in the country 2?

I mean, we live in a town of 20,000 people, and the city is around 30 minutes away. So we don’t even live in the country! (At least, not my definition of it).

Still, I missed a few animals, like geese and centipedes. And plenty of other insects I can’t name.

Compared to people in my area, a half acre yard is tiny. Some people own hundreds of acres! There’s an apple orchard behind my house, too.

U have a half acre yard???????? That's like, humongous. I have a tiny backyard. I've seen squirrels and rabbits, and a cockroach once or twice, and was there a grasshopper? Or just a praying mantis? These r a lot of animals!
