Stores that display "no refund" signs are breaking the law.

You can get a refund on an item that you broke by accidentally damaging it.

If you have a Lay-by agreement with a trader, you are not entitled to a statement that clearly outlines the terms and conditions of the transaction that states a description of the goods, when payments are due, and any cancellation fees.

Contact sale agreements that are over $50 don't have to be in writing.

If a contact sales agreement is made that is over $50, there must be a written notice to the purchaser of a 10 day cooling off period on the front page of the agreement and must also have a cancellation form to let the purchaser know how to cancel the agreement.

If you make a purchase that is a Non-contact sale, (eg Internet, mail order or telemarketing), the supplier has to give the total cost of the goods or services, if or if not a cooling period is in the agreement, to exercise your right to cool off and the details of his/her company either in writing or verbally.

When you tell a telemarketer to take your phone number off their database, they are not entitled to.

If you tell a telemarketer that you don't want to talk to them they have to hang up and are not allowed to call for 30 days.

If you receive goods in the mail that you didn't request, you still have to pay for them.

If you refuse to let the store check your bag you may be asked to leave the store, the proprietor can refuse to sell you any goods, or the police could be called if you are suspected of committing a criminal offense.

It's illegal for a tradesperson to carry out repairs on your goods without your consent.

If you are at a supermarket and your shopping items get scanned for a higher price then they were displayed you are not entitled to get it free or at a lower price. If you buy several items that were scanned at a higher price then they were displayed you are also not entitled to get them free or at a lower price.
