As with most "test" of this type, the multiple guess answers leave a great deal to be desired. Frankly, I'm amazed I achieved a "mostly human" result, and - to be perfectly honest - the fact I did so proves how unrealistic this test is; I'm an Asperger's autist, and my social score always places in the moron zone when taking a comprehensive IQ test. Were this test even marginally accurate I would have rated 100% android.

The majority of the questions are utterly asinine, and the allowed responses are narrow to the point of imbecility. Example: my kid is collecting and killing butterflies. My choices are to emote enthusiasm, evince censure of a level where I recommend suicide, or take the child to a shrink. 🕊?? Where's the "sit the child down and have a serious discussion with him about the moral implications of what he's doing" answer? It's MY kid! It's MY job to figure out what got broke, when it broke, and what needs done to correct the situation before he becomes the next Norman Bates...

IMO, Bethesda did a better job with their character class selection questions in the early Elder Scrolls games. THOSE questions at least A. had a realistic underlying paradigm, and B. were accompanied by answers which the majority of humanity could relate to.

Seriously... The only thing worse than these questions is the Godawful selection of responses.

But that's just my take on it. Maybe some people out there LIKE cordon bleu style puppy chow...

Edit to following comment: Not the very last question. Question #9. Makes no sense.

As you said, don't take the test seriously. If I did, I'd find it disingenuous. Some of the questions are leading, and some of the sets don't make sense (especially the very last question). I can think of much better questions. "Someone publicly accuses you of being an android. What is your reaction?" Now there's a zinger. ;D

...It's simplicity itself to spot a human versus a replicant/synthetic life form. Humans all malfunction continually and smell of protein (ugh)...

I think the point of the whole Voight-Kampf outlandishness was to point out the ridiculousness of measuring humanity in individuals. I wanted to put answers in there that weren't represented, and that made me feel all the more paranoid about how I don't identify with upwards of 80% of the population of earth. In the end, it's very parallel to the conclusions in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest." They were just people trying to live.

The tortoise/turtle one is particularly interesting. In the book it's made more clear that the android purposely misunderstands the vocabulary in order to defeat the "reaction time" characteristic of the test.

By having to stop and ask for a description, the reaction time can't be measured and therefore the test question is rendered worthless. The android, (unconsciously) knowing that (she) would fail the question, defeats the test parameters by asking for a clarification. Which just highlights the level of sophistication Rosen encoded in the Nexus 6--an active defense mechanism against detection.

Probably Rosen should have produced a blush response immediately after every interrogative clause if a VK machine is present.

Totally Android. I can't honestly identify which responses to the questions are supposed to be more representative of being human than the others. Simply because Rachel & Leon responded a certain way doesn't mean their responses were necessarily Android. Leon terminated his test early and we had no FB on his test's results. Rachel was subjected to more than one hundred questions most we don't know and again no FB. Without awareness of necessary criteria, explanation and FB I can only conclude the test itself is inconclusive. Do you make these questions up or does someone write them down for you?

Cute, but the questions naturally reflect a western society with different moral and legal values resulting from a history we haven't experienced.

They would not engender the same emotional and physiological responses.

Still neat though, I guess.

Is this to test if I'm a machine or a lesbian?

Not exactly the most accurate, you need to measure their pupil and blush response as well. Not to mention that the story is set in the future when nearly all animals are dead. This greatly affects the magnitude of the questions. In nowadays context it requires much more empathy.
