This is a bit awkward... let's just say you are a good friend, but you might need to work a little more on how you treat your friend!

You seem to jump to conclusions quickly, and all because you don't trust your friend at all. Why is that?
This is often connected to self-esteem. According to your answers, every time something good happens to your friend, you get jealous and resentful. You can't really be happy for them. That is far from what a friend should feel. Maybe you would love to be happy for them, but you just can't. Is that because they are an unbearable show-off, or are you insecure about your own achievements?
If they are so annoying, why are you still friends with them. You'd be better off leaving. But if that happens with every friend, you should think about what you can change yourself. Get to know your strengths, find out what you're good at, and derive your self-esteem from that. So what, they're better at Math than you are. You ace every test in English! Be happy for the both of you and accept people as they are or let them go.
How we treat our friends reflects how we treat ourselves. Be nice to yourself. Allow yourself to fail and others to succeed. Root for them just as much as you would like them to root for you! BRO JUST SAY IM A 🌻 FRIEND I DON'T LIKE THEM ANYWAYS

A friend of mine is getting married and I opted to fall out of friendship a few weeks ago when they sent me their invitation text. Things were bumpy with their parents for as long as I remember and every conversation ultimately turned into them nagging over their parents. November '20, lockdowns were easing out and I and a few other mutuals decided to celebrate their 25th with a cake and a humble get-together at their place. Others ditched because some tested positive or were near their Covid +ve acquaintances, leaving me, them and their parents on their birthday. The evening turned awfully traumatic (emotional, mental and physical -- all the levels) with them and their parental issues, quarrels among them and me getting sucked into that uncomfortable situation where I just wanted to celebrate being alive and together after a long time, cue in the desperation to meet people induced by lockdowns and sadly a decadent chocolate cake being shoved into my face as an aftermath of all that. This only left a lingering feeling to fall out, for upcoming months, in my head until the last few weeks when it happened actually over a text, all of which happened in front of my mother. Today my Dad reminded me of the wedding in the upcoming days and I simply replied "I'm not going, please ask Mum for any further details".
