Should your company hire an in-house technician or outsource your IT? Actually, this probably is not the best question you could be asking. A better question would be “How much should I outsource and how much should I keep in-house?” This requires a deeper knowledge of where you are, so let's get started!

  • 1
    Size of company
  • 2
How much can you spend a month?
  • 3
How comfortable are you managing an IT Team without an Administrator familiar with the job requirements and expectations?
  • 4
    Hiring IT help:
  • 5
    In-house IT Teams
  • 6
How often do you NEED on-site assistance? (Keep in mind: many problems can be fixed remotely, which is much more cost effective)
  • 7
How complex is your computer system currently?
  • 8
How much do you think a typical outsourcing company would cost a month, for your company?
  • 9
Is personal service very important to you?
  • 10
How familiar are you, and others in your company with computer issues?

My company is probably too small to need an IT company, they recommend me hire 1 part-time/on-call technician, to fight problems as they come up. This way, I don’t pay for what I need.
