This might sound weird, but I love blank pages--so what better to do than write a poem about it?

    1

    I don't care whether there
    Are fifteen or seventeen lines
    I just mind where
    They are
    Scratches with a pencil
    I love every mar
    A blank page
That I can fill with words
A silent war on the journals I wage
Words overflow, flood, spill from my pen
    Or pencil
    Maybe a mechanical? Just when
    The words flow freely
A nice spin on the classic
    Or maybe just the classic?
    The page can't see me
But I can embellish its blankness
    And use its whiteness
    It's lightness
    A blank page
    Is a beautiful thing
    Every day I wage
    A silent war
    Scarring and marring
    The soft blankness for
    A page filled with words
