A poem about the title.

    To keep everything together
    I squeeze my center
So that I don't slop into mush
    That's where I am
Everything feels like it's always falling apart
It feels like inside I have a prickly bush
    What's hurting is my heart
It can be for many reasons
    Maybe it was so obvious
    There are seasons
Pieces of their lives I can't be
Or those others all talking and laughing
    Friends just like family
    Not for me
    Not for me
    So I squeeze my center
    To keep it all together
    Or stare at the weather
Trying to think or trying to forget
    Keeping it all together
Diving in and getting all wet
Making sure they would never suspect
    Keeping it all together
I dread these words, they'd never expect
    Keeping it all together
    Twenty-four seven I
    Am keeping it all together
And trying to get myself to not tell the lie
But never can I stop myself
All I need to do is
    Keep it all together
    And then maybe
    I will magically
    Be better
Of course that's not what I think
    I have many things
    Including the kitchen sink
But I still need to squeeze my center
And keep on trying and trying and trying
Because maybe I'll magically be better
If I just keep it all together
I'm just trying to keep it all together
I am keeping it all together
